Have you ever thought of the things that really make your life pleasurable? I’m not going to talk about sex here today, we can save that for another time. What I am thinking about right now, are the things in life that make our experiences truly remarkable. They could be simple things, or they could be huge, complex things. It doesn’t matter what they are to someone else, if they are special to you, then they are important! I started making a list of the things that genuinely make my life worth it, and I want to share them with you.
- A great cup of coffee each morning, with creamer!
- Spending time with someone who truly gets me.
- Snuggles and hugs from my children.
- A phone call from a true friend.
- Encouraging words from someone I don’t even know.
- Kissing in the rain.
- Chocolate and coconut.
- Hearing the words I love you from someone special.
- Clean sheets.
- Hot bubble baths, with a great book and candles.
- Getting my hair done.
- Lobster
- Pedicures!
- Grass or sand on my bare feet.
- Cuddling up with a good movie, a bowl of popcorn and a special someone.
- Turning up the volume and singing along when my favorite song comes on the radio. Bonus points for embarrassing my teens!
- The smell of rain.
- Back rubs!
- Laughing so hard I cry.
- Silence after the kids go to bed.
I am trying to recognize the things that make me happy these days. I am trying to appreciate these things and find pleasure and satisfaction in the little stuff. I think that the more love and happiness we can infuse into our lives, the better people we will be and become. So in my season of change, and rediscovery of myself I am making the most of the experiences that make me smile. The things that fill me with unadulterated joy. I hope that you will join me in identifying the things that make you happy, and increase these things until they fill you! What makes your life pleasurable?

Towels and blankets fresh out the dryer
The smell of heaters in the winter time (don’t know why, but I like the smell!)
The feel of cools sheets in the the summer time
Letters in the mail from my pen pal
The smell of a fresh pot of coffee
The look on my husbands face when I finish cooking
Smiles and giggles from my 5 month old girl
The sound of rain as it hits the roof
The moment all the chores and cleaning is done and you get just a few mins to sit and enjoy it before you go to bed and prepare for the next day’s disaster
The smell of dessert baking in the oven
I love warm towels and blankets out of the dryer too, and the sound of rain, and desserts baking….all things associated with home.
