Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids and keep cool at the same time? I have just the recipe for you! Homemade Ice Cream in a bag! Everyone makes their own serving and it’s fun too!
Combine 2 TBS sugar, 1 Cup half and half, and 1/2 Tsp vanilla extract in a pint sized ziplock bag and seal it tightly. Place 1/2 Cup coarse salt (table salt is also fine) in a gallon sized bag, then fill it halfway with ice cubes. Place the sealed smaller bag inside as well, and seal the larger bag. Shake the bags until the ice cream mixture hardens, about 5 minutes. Feel the small bag to see when it is done, it will feel like soft serve ice cream! Take the smaller bag out of the larger one, and eat the ice cream right out of the bag, no mess, minimal clean up!
You can also add small candies, chocolate chips, or crushed cookies to mix it up a bit and have a little personalized variety!
Serves 1! Enjoy!
