When my hubby and I found out we were pregnant with my fifth child, we knew we wanted to do a few things differently this time around. The most prominent decision was whether to cloth diaper or not. I had briefly cloth diapered my first, twelve years previously and it was not a pleasant experience to say the least!! Back then, it was Gerber prefold diapers and pins and pull on vinyl pants. Yuck! On a squirming toddler, it was not easy to pin a diaper on, and getting them off when they were poopy was horrible! But I had seen some pretty cute cloth diapers on Craigslist, and was interested in researching the new options. Little did I know what I was getting myself into! As I dug deeper and deeper into the Internet, I fell more and more in love! All the cute prints! The adorable covers! Wool! Yay! The vast array of options was daunting, and exciting! And, oh, my pocketbook was really going to suffer! They seemed ever so expensive! I wanted to try them all just so see what would work best for us. So many choices! It was really confusing at first to even pick one style to try! AIO’s, Pockets. Fitteds, Prefolds just for starters. Then we had to decide on fabric…. cotton, bamboo, hemp, Sherpa, microfiber, fleece, wool, just to name a few. How to choose?
Where we live there are no brick and mortar stores to go to and actually see and touch cloth diapers. And I didn’t know anyone who actually used these things. So it was really hard to base our decisions on pictures and reviews online. Seventeen months later, I still feel like we don’t know what we are doing and that we haven’t found the “right” diaper for us! We have been through Fuzzibunz, and WAHM dipes, Coolababy diapers and Sunbaby diapers. Still we are on a mission to find the right fit. In a perfect world, we could try one of each and pick our favorites. But our wallets won’t allow it. With the hundreds and thousands of styles and brands and fabrics, it would be impossible. But a girl can dream, right?
Through this whole process I have found that I am impossibly and completely ADDICTED to cloth diapers! I love their soft fluffiness.I love the patterns and fabrics and yes, even all the choices. I love every part of cloth diapering my sweet little one. I am hopelessly a lost cause when it comes to giving the best to my baby. And I love the economical and ecological benefits just as much.
I will keep trying out new diapers, and be searching for the perfect fit and absorbency for each situation until she is potty trained. This is my quest.

Hello I found you on cloth diapering website. I'm also completely addicted to cloth diapering. We use flips, gdiapers (my favorite at the moment and what we started with) and I just got a order for KaWaii diapers yesterday. So we are trying them out now. So far they seem great, not to mention the cheapest one's I've found so far and by far the cutest I have now. Feel free to visit my blog, http://www.audsbabydays.blogspot.com
